Transaction Monitoring Analyst – Remote (LATAM/APAC timezone)

About the role

As a Transaction Monitoring Investigator, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of the Bitfinex platform by identifying, investigating, and mitigating financial crime risks across both fiat and cryptocurrency transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transaction monitoring algorithms to detect AML, terrorism financing, sanctions and other compliance risks.
• Analyze and investigate alerts from fiat and crypto trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating urgent alerts per risk appetite.
• Assist the Manager in building periodic reports identifying money‑laundering, terrorist‑financing and sanctions anomalies for senior leadership.
• Adjust risk parameters and ensure KYC/AML/CTF and sanctions activities are observed at all times.
• Participate in compliance training and cross‑departmental communication.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance within the industry and understanding of AML/KYC/CTF policies and sanctions.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and virtual currencies.
• University degree and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to source and interpret documentation in various languages.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail and self‑motivation.
