Assistant R&D Chemist

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant R&D Chemist to support our research and development activities within the paint and coating business. The role involves assisting senior chemists, ensuring a safe laboratory environment, and contributing to project planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and promote a safe work environment in accordance with HSES policies and procedures.
• Follow safe work practices for personal and equipment safety both in the laboratory and in the field.
• Maintain housekeeping standards of the laboratory.
• Assist in planning and executing R&D projects related to paint and coating formulations.
• Support analytical testing and laboratory experiments under guidance of senior staff.

Required profile

• BSc in Chemistry or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in the chemical or paint industry.
• Good project and time management abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills across functions.

Required skills

• Laboratory techniques and equipment handling.
• Chemical engineering principles.
• Paint coating formulation knowledge.
• Understanding of the paint industry processes.
