Area Sales Manager, Yeast Solutions (SEASA)

About the role

Fermentis, a business unit of the Lesaffre group, sells yeast and fermentation solutions to brewers, winemakers, spirits makers and other beverage producers. As Area Sales Manager for the Southeast Asia region, you will develop sales of added-value yeast and yeast derivatives in beer, wine, spirits and other fermented beverage markets, reporting to the Director of Sales. About 50% of your time is spent travelling.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm and develop new business opportunities in defined geographic zones and meet or exceed the yearly sales targets.
• Manage P&L and sales performance, prepare your own budget, help prepare the sales and marketing budget and report monthly results, analysis and action plans.
• Oversee Regional Sales Managers' budgets and conduct their yearly performance appraisals.
• Research the market, identify key contacts and prospects, update customer databases and monitor competitors.
• Visit accounts and prospects, give technical presentations, prepare offers and support customers and distributors technically.
• Promote products and expertise, and contribute to trade shows, seminars and conferences.
• Manage distributor relationships, including training, and report progress quarterly.
• Work with Sales Administration and Supply Chain on orders and product availability, and follow up customer complaints.

Required profile

• Master's degree in chemistry, biology, food science and/or fermentation, ideally with alcohol beverage production.
• 5-10 years of experience selling technical ingredients such as yeasts, enzymes or flavours to industrial beverage producers is a strong advantage.
• Sensitivity to Southeast Asian cultures, team player, positive, dynamic and autonomous.
• Excellent English; local languages in the region are a plus.
