Electrical Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Join Damen Song Cam’s Commissioning and Sea Trial department as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer. You will work on maritime projects involving electrification, automation, and hybrid‑electrical propulsion, contributing to the design, testing and delivery of shipboard electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and finish testing programmes following HAT/SAT protocols for electrical systems.
• Check, support and coordinate OEM supplier activities during the commissioning phase.
• Report test data in HAT/SAT documents and suggest improvements or standardisation.
• Perform pre‑commissioning checks on cable installations and connection completeness.
• Review electrical drawings, identify signalling issues and propose enhancements to the Engineering department.
• Participate in sea‑trials, troubleshoot issues on ships during delivery trips.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of experience in design and installation of complex electrical systems.
• Experience with functional development of electrification and/or control & monitoring systems.
• Strong communication skills in English.
