Industrial Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Engineer to lead projects from concept through construction and final review. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the region to ensure robust, integrated designs for bulk material handling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of projects from initial design to construction and final hand‑over.
• Collaborate with local and regional design disciplines to maintain overall design integrity.
• Manage project components, budgets, schedules, quality assurance and client feedback.
• Communicate changes or modifications effectively to all stakeholders.
• Assist in workload management and resource forecasting.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Specialist experience in bulk material handling, particularly belt conveyor design (power/tension calculations, equipment and transfer chute design).
• Design and specification of industrial machines and components.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis and Discrete Element Analysis.
• Project management experience on small‑scale projects.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Australian standards such as AS 4324/ISO 5049 and AS 4024/ISO 12100 is a plus.
