Operations Manager – Freight Forwarding (English/Vietnamese)

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead daily import and export freight forwarding activities, ensuring shipments are booked, executed and closed profitably. The role requires close coordination with sales, finance, carriers, and overseas agents while maintaining high service quality and accurate system data.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily import and export shipment operations, securing space with shipping lines, airlines and agents.
• Monitor booking confirmations, documentation (SI, BL/AWB), container release, loading, departure, arrival and delivery status.
• Control Gross Profit (GP) for each shipment, reviewing estimates, tracking actual costs and taking corrective actions on low‑margin shipments.
• Ensure all shipment information is accurately entered and updated in the ERP system, generating reports and dashboards.
• Lead and develop the Operations team, set KPIs, allocate work and enforce SOPs.
• Maintain relationships with carriers and vendors, negotiate solutions for space shortages, delays or additional charges.
• Provide timely updates to key customers, resolve operational complaints and coordinate with Sales to meet commitments.
• Guarantee compliance with customs and regulatory requirements and oversee proper document filing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations, with strong import and export knowledge.
• Proven experience in space booking management and cost control for shipments.
• Hands‑on experience with freight forwarding/ERP systems for data and GP management.
• Previous experience supervising an Operations team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities; fluent English (Chinese a plus).
• Strong knowledge of Excel and operational reporting.
