Safety Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Safety Officer to support the implementation of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management system, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and best practices. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring safety performance, supporting incident investigations, providing training, and collaborating with operational teams to improve safety and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and occupational health and safety audits across workshops and operational areas.
• Issue and control Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) activities and manage the R‑Drive and Work Permit systems.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near‑misses and unsafe conditions, analyse root causes and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in emergency response activities, including fire‑fighting, evacuation drills and environmental incident handling.
• Deliver toolbox meetings, safety briefings and HSE induction training for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and support internal and external HSE audits.
• Identify risks and improvement opportunities, supporting continuous HSE improvement projects.

Required profile

• College degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety within manufacturing, shipbuilding or a similar industrial environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and relevant Vietnamese HSE regulations is an advantage.
