SCR Commissioning Engineer – Marine Emission Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SCR Commissioning Engineer to join the Commissioning & Sea Trials Department at Damen Song Cam Shipyard. The role involves preparing, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, optimizing and accepting Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on new vessels, ensuring compliance with IMO Tier III emission standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑commissioning inspections and execute commissioning activities for SCR reactors, urea dosing, air supply, and NOx monitoring systems.
• Support dock, yard, harbor acceptance and sea trials, validating system functionality, alarms, interlocks and safety protections.
• Diagnose faults, analyse NOx reduction performance and optimise system settings during sea‑trial phases.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, checklists, punch‑lists and maintain complete technical documentation for hand‑over.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, automation engineers, OEM specialists and classification societies to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in marine engineering, vessel commissioning or emission‑control systems, preferably with SCR technology.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with ability to work under pressure.
