Senior AI Engineer – Supply Chain (Databricks focus)

About the role

Bosch Group is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of an AI platform focused on supply‑chain use cases. The role centres on Databricks technologies and the development of LLM‑driven applications that interact with enterprise data and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and DevOps of the AI platform on Databricks, including Delta Lake, workflows, governance and environment management.
• Design AI‑ready data architectures optimized for large language model (LLM) and agent scenarios, ensuring low‑latency retrieval and semantic layering.
• Lead the implementation and scaling of Databricks Genie (or equivalent) for natural‑language‑to‑data interactions.
• Build, test and deploy LLM‑powered applications and agents that leverage Bosch’s enterprise data.
• Implement end‑to‑end Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines: data ingestion, embedding, retrieval and evaluation.
• Integrate SAP, internal databases and external APIs via connectors, MCP and tool‑calling interfaces.
• Establish CI/CD, testing and observability standards for data and AI workloads.
• Optimize performance, cost and reliability of Databricks workloads and AI systems.
• Collaborate with AI engineers and analysts to ensure scalable, production‑ready AI use cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI engineering, data‑platform engineering or backend systems.
• Deep expertise in Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, job orchestration, workspace governance).
• Strong background in platform engineering/DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Proven ability to monitor, log and maintain production reliability of AI workloads.
• Hands‑on experience with Python, SQL and large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic or open‑source alternatives).
