Steel & Welding QC Supervisor (Vietnamese only)

About the role

The Quality Control (QC) department at Damen Song Cam Shipyard ensures that steelwork and welding activities meet the highest standards while supporting efficient production. As a Steel & Welding QC Supervisor, you will lead inspections, monitor processes, and drive continuous improvement in hull construction.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract specifications, quality plans and develop Inspection Test Plans (ITP) for hull parts.
• Inspect incoming raw materials, welding consumables and ensure traceability of all materials.
• Conduct welding inspections at all stages, including fit‑up, pre‑heat surveillance, in‑process checks and final visual verification.
• Coordinate and witness Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and approve NDT plans.
• Perform leak and pressure testing of completed welds.
• Investigate quality issues, issue Non‑Conformity Reports (NCR) and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection reports, project progress updates and manage technical acceptance documents.

Required profile

• University degree in Shipbuilding, Marine or Welding Engineering.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in a shipyard environment.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with project teams and class societies.
