Work Preparator – Production Preparation (Vietnamese Only)

About the role

Work preparators collaborate with multiple teams to assemble the information package for ships built at the Damen Song Cam Shipyard. They are responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality and structure of shop orders.

Key responsibilities

• Compile purchase requisitions, consolidate required information, and communicate clear deadlines to the Purchasing department to guarantee timely acquisition of parts and supplies for ongoing projects.
• Prepare detailed drawings, production data, and comprehensive job lists formatted as shop orders, ensuring the Production team has all necessary technical information to start work on schedule.
• Create and maintain production PBS (Product Breakdown Structure) templates, guaranteeing their completeness, structural stability, and alignment with bill of materials, demand forecasts, and lead times.
• Coordinate with Stores and Logistics by generating accurate shop orders that facilitate the receipt, storage, and transfer of goods to the appropriate production zones.
• Engage in continuous process improvement activities, adhere to HSEQ standards, and ensure the workplace remains clean, safe, and compliant with company regulations.

Required profile

• A degree in Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, providing a solid technical foundation for production preparation tasks.
• Between one and three years of hands‑on experience in shipbuilding environments, preferably within Damen shipyards, covering mechanical, piping, or electrical disciplines.
• Basic proficiency in written and spoken English sufficient to understand technical documents and communicate with internal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established technical standards and procedures.
