AP Curriculum Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced educator to serve as the AP Curriculum Coordinator, a 0.5 FTE leadership position combined with a 0.5 FTE secondary teaching timetable. The role will support the development, implementation and quality assurance of the High School curriculum, with particular responsibility for coordinating and strengthening the school’s Advanced Placement (AP) programme.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, review and alignment of curriculum across divisions, ensuring coherence with school learning outcomes and external standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to plan the phased introduction and expansion of AP courses, including identification of appropriate subject offerings and compliance with College Board expectations.
• Provide instructional coaching and curriculum support to teachers, focusing on academic rigor, standards alignment and assessment practices.
• Collect, analyse and report on student performance data to identify trends, monitor readiness for advanced pathways and evaluate programme effectiveness.
• Serve as a point of contact for curriculum‑related inquiries from staff, parents and senior leadership, maintaining accurate documentation for accreditation and external review.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred) with demonstrated experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership or programme coordination.
• Strong understanding of US Common Core standards, standards‑based instruction and university‑preparatory pathways.
• Experience teaching advanced or college‑preparatory courses and familiarity with the Advanced Placement program or College Board expectations.
• Excellent organisational, communication and collaboration skills, with ability to analyse academic data and support improvement initiatives.
