Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Commissioning Engineer responsible for commissioning ships, ship systems and installations to ensure they meet required specifications and safety standards before delivery to the client.

Key responsibilities

• Check, set up, operate and complete testing programs for ship systems following HAT/SAT protocols.
• Coordinate supplier activities during the commissioning phase and record testing data in HAT/SAT documents.
• Verify ship systems and equipment using commissioning protocols and prepare safety equipment and trial boxes for sea trials.
• Participate in sea trials, record vessel performance, resolve issues, and produce commissioning reports for classification societies.
• Support production by monitoring progress, proposing improvements, and managing trial equipment and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a shipyard or as chief/first engineer in an international shipping company.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HAT/SAT testing protocols and commissioning procedures.
• Experience in sea‑trial execution and trial equipment management.
