Documentation Expert

About the role

Maersk Vietnam is looking for a Documentation Expert in Ho Chi Minh City. The role handles both export and import shipping documents, coordinating with vendors, internal teams, customers and destination offices so that documents are submitted accurately and on time. Key responsibilities

• Export documentation: collect, follow readiness and validate shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List and Certificate of Origin, ensuring compliance with IOP and SOP requirements and defined KPIs.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, customers and destination offices, and proactively follow up and troubleshoot issues so that documentation and cargo release are completed on time.
• Import documentation: receive and verify import documents according to customs and regulatory requirements, and coordinate with customs brokers and carriers for smooth clearance and delivery.
• Resolve documentation discrepancies quickly and keep shipment status updates accurate in the system.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business or a related field.
• At least 6 months of internship experience in logistics and shipping, or experience handling export-import documents.
• Good command of written and spoken English; Thai, Khmer or Burmese is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, hardworking and able to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of shipping documentation, Incoterms and basic customs procedures.
• Influential Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Understanding of Power BI and automation applications is a plus.
