Finance Officer – Hanoi

About the role

The Finance Officer based in Hanoi will consolidate core financial functions—including financial planning & analysis, accounting, and partner financial management—to ensure the integrity, transparency and accuracy of Save the Children’s financial processes in Vietnam. The role supports compliance with internal policies, donor regulations and Vietnamese law while building capacity among staff and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead financial planning and analysis activities, preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Manage partner financial management, reviewing and approving partner expenditures and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and follow‑up actions.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, promote fraud awareness and implement appropriate controls.
• Provide training and capacity‑building support to staff and partners on financial governance and efficiency.
• Adapt working hours and duties in response to major humanitarian emergencies as required.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the non‑profit or humanitarian sector.
• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese financial regulations and donor compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑changing environment.
