Mechanical Design Engineer (Machine Design & Product Development)

About the role

Bosch Group is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer in Ho Chi Minh City within its engineering development centre, BGSV (Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited), which develops embedded systems, software, mechanical design and simulation. The role covers machine design for factory automation and mechanical product development.

Key responsibilities

• Design machines, mechanical systems and automation equipment for factory automation projects, and develop innovative mechanical concepts into practical designs.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings with CAD tools, select standard components and prepare Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Modify and optimise existing machine designs to meet customer requirements while ensuring quality, safety and manufacturability.
• Work with Electrical, Software and Manufacturing teams, and support prototype assembly, testing, troubleshooting and design improvements.
• Analyse customer requirements, develop products from concept through detailed design and release, and create and maintain engineering documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, ECRs).
• Perform design verification, support product validation and ensure designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements and manufacturing constraints.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical design, machine design, product development, internships or academic projects.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, good English communication, willingness to learn, self-motivated and proactive, with good teamwork and attention to detail.
• Preferred: internship or practical experience in machine design, product development or factory automation; familiarity with standard mechanical components such as MISUMI, THK, SMC, HIWIN, Festo; knowledge of mechanism simulation, motion analysis, DFM, DFA or FMEA; ability to communicate in Japanese or Chinese.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
• Basic understanding of machine design principles, manufacturing and machining processes, material selection, GD&T, engineering drawings and BOM creation
