Operations Supervisor

About the role

Wilhelmsen Port Services is looking for an Operations Supervisor to support vessel operations at its Ho Chi Minh City office. You will act as the main point of contact for ship owners, masters and principals, ensuring smooth port services and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day vessel operations and provide support to the operations department.
• Respond to inquiries from ship owners, masters and principals, providing port information, restrictions and quotations for crew changes, repairs and provisions.
• Coordinate activities between Wilhelmsen, shippers, consignees, terminals and stevedores.
• Handle customs, immigration, quarantine, harbor master and towage formalities in line with local standards.
• Arrange berths, report cargo loading/discharging, and document any vessel or cargo damage.
• Prepare billing documents, including sub‑agent D/A, for processing.
• Undertake ad‑hoc assignments from the Operations Manager and produce operational reports.
• Maintain relationships with customers, charterers, agents and authorities while ensuring KPI compliance and cost control.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree, preferably in shipping operations.
• Managerial experience is preferred.
• At least three years of experience in shipping, vessel operations or husbandry services.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to work odd hours, weekends and public holidays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Independent working style with good interpersonal and communication abilities.
