Packaging Design & Optimization Engineer – East Asia

About the role

As a member of the physical logistics department, you will join Bosch's packaging design team to develop and optimise packaging solutions for raw materials and finished goods across the East Asia region. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and ergonomic packaging.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine packaging concepts for both returnable and one‑way solutions used in transport and handling.
• Coordinate optimisation projects that improve ergonomics, product density and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with automotive suppliers and Bosch plants to implement new packaging concepts and ensure smooth ramp‑up.
• Align packaging development with the requirements of all related AM‑plants, covering usage, ergonomics, logistics and technical characteristics.
• Support the selection of competitive packaging suppliers and release purchases for required tooling.
• Standardise packaging types by optimising internal processes and reducing variety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Design, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Familiarity with various packaging materials and their applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Reliable, structured and detail‑oriented work style.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Basic knowledge of SAP (preferred).
