Senior Power BI Developer

About the role

Join Damen Shipyards Group’s digital transformation journey as a Senior Power BI Developer. You will design, develop, and govern Business Intelligence solutions that turn complex enterprise data into actionable insights for a global shipbuilding leader.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting and analytics needs into scalable Power BI solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models and data transformations.
• Integrate data from multiple sources while improving data quality, reliability and traceability.
• Optimize DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, security settings, refresh performance and report usability.
• Ensure data accuracy and maintain comprehensive technical and user documentation.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, effort estimates and implementation risks during project refinement.
• Define and promote best practices for BI development, data modeling, governance, testing and solution reuse.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex BI challenges and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or a related field.
• Solid experience in BI development, analytics, database development or data modeling.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Coaching and mentoring capabilities with a strong ownership mindset.

Required skills

• Microsoft Power BI (including DAX, Power Query, Semantic Modeling, Report Design & Optimization, Deployment Practices).
• SQL and relational database expertise with dimensional modeling knowledge.
• Experience with enterprise Power BI environments, shared semantic models, deployment pipelines, gateways and workspace governance.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, APIs, Data Warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
