Technical Product Classification Engineer (Trade Compliance)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Product Classification Engineer to join Bosch’s Trade Compliance team in Ho Chi Minh City. The role focuses on assigning correct customs tariff codes to Bosch products and technologies, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Classify products and technologies according to customs tariff schedules (HS codes).
• Collect and analyse technical product information, specifications and bills of materials to determine appropriate tariff codes.
• Maintain and update a database of classified products with HS codes and supporting documentation.
• Apply the General Rules for the Interpretation (GRI) of the Harmonized System to produce defensible classification decisions.
• Research customs rulings, explanatory notes and legal precedents to resolve complex classification issues under supervision.
• Prepare documentation for internal reviews and customs audits.
• Collaborate with team members to process classification requests and ensure procedural alignment.
• Document classification rationales and research findings for future reference.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.).
• 1‑3 years of experience in international trade compliance or product classification.
• Advanced English reading comprehension to interpret technical specifications and regulatory texts.

Required skills
