Power BI Specialist – Business Intelligence Expert

About the role

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is seeking an experienced Power BI Specialist to act as the organization’s subject‑matter expert and shape Business Intelligence implementation and governance across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and improve enterprise BI architecture, governance, security, and maintainability.
• Advise product owners, BI managers, developers and analysts on report structure, KPI design, information hierarchy and data storytelling.
• Define and maintain Power BI development standards, reusable templates, visualization principles and governance frameworks.
• Lead technical design reviews covering Power BI architecture, DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, security, deployment and performance optimization.
• Translate complex business questions into scalable reporting solutions and validate usability, accuracy and security before deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or related field.
• Extensive experience in BI development, analytics, database development or data modeling, with expert‑level Power BI knowledge.
• Proven experience implementing governance, testing, documentation and security frameworks.
• Strong consulting and advisory mindset with ability to influence without formal authority.

Required skills

• Microsoft Power BI (DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, report design, performance optimization, deployment & governance).
• SQL and relational database expertise.
• Data governance, security and scalability best practices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, APIs.
• Agile development frameworks.
