Automotive Engineer – English & Japanese, long‑term onsite in Japan

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Key Account Engineer to support automotive component projects for Japanese OEM customers across passenger car and commercial vehicle applications. The position includes a long‑term onsite assignment in Japan (minimum 2.5 years) starting around March 2027, with family accompaniment support and an attractive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first‑level Technical Key Account (TKA) for assigned automotive component projects.
• Serve as the main technical interface with Japanese OEM customers, handling technical questions, requirements, and clarifications.
• Support execution of customer projects for passenger‑car and commercial‑vehicle applications, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
• Assist in new project acquisition activities, providing technical documentation and inputs.
• Coordinate and track Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for customer projects.
• Take ownership of relevant Quality Gate (QG) activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Key Account Engineer or similar role in the automotive sector.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Japanese OEM customers.
• Fluent in English and Japanese.
• Willingness to relocate to Japan for a long‑term onsite assignment.
• Strong technical background in automotive components, especially DNOX and exhaust after‑treatment systems.
