Deputy Manager - Technical Development, 4W, Mobility Coatings

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Technical Development will lead the 4W Mobility Coatings portfolio, ensuring product performance meets customer specifications and business requirements. This role combines product development, quality assurance, and laboratory management within BASF Vietnam’s coatings business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and implement product development and quality control procedures in line with corporate standards.
• Supervise ISO‑related activities to maintain certification and the company’s quality assurance system.
• Lead the localisation of 4W products, ensuring performance meets customer specifications.
• Manage and optimise lab and quality‑control workflows, focusing on cost, quality, safety and environmental protection.
• Formulate work programs, examine lab processes and implement optimisation measures.
• Drive new product development and modify existing products for cost optimisation.
• Oversee raw‑material replacement projects to improve cost competitiveness without compromising quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical development and quality management within the coatings or chemicals sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead laboratory and quality‑control teams.
• Strong understanding of ISO standards and certification processes.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and deliver results on schedule.
