SCR Commissioning Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑commissioning inspections of SCR systems, including piping, instrumentation, electrical interfaces, sensors, actuators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Execute commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures and OEM requirements.
• Commission and validate SCR reactor systems, urea dosing, air supply, urea transfer and storage, NOx monitoring and control, and HMI/automation interfaces.
• Support dock trials, yard trials, harbor acceptance tests (HAT) and sea acceptance tests (SAT).
• Diagnose system faults and technical issues during commissioning and sea‑trial phases.
• Analyze NOx reduction performance and optimise system settings when required.
• Coordinate corrective actions with suppliers, engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Prepare commissioning reports, checklists, punch lists and test documentation.
• Verify compliance with IMO Tier III requirements, classification society regulations, vendor specifications and Damen commissioning procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, Automation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in marine engineering, commissioning, propulsion or after‑treatment systems.
• Experience with vessel commissioning, marine engines, exhaust or emission‑control technologies preferred.
• Knowledge of marine diesel engines, exhaust gas systems, SCR technology and urea dosing systems.
• Understanding of IMO Tier III regulations, NOx emission control requirements and classification society standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs and electrical diagrams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
