Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Application Software (ASW)

About the role

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for automotive brake systems, you will develop embedded software functions across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to vehicle validation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer and system requirements and develop software specifications and technical documentation.
• Design, implement, verify and debug embedded software functions using model‑based or code‑based approaches.
• Develop test specifications, evaluate results and support software integration, calibration and vehicle validation.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by project teams, customers and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or related fields.
• Proven experience in embedded software development for automotive brake or vehicle dynamics systems.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent English communication.

Required skills

• Programming in C and C++.
• Embedded systems and microcontroller development.
• Model‑based development tools such as ASCET, MATLAB/Simulink.
• CAN communication protocols and tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL).
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR, ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE and V‑Model processes.
