Deputy Manager – Sales, PU Footwear & Performance Materials

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Sales, PU Footwear & Performance Materials will act as the local key account manager responsible for driving BASF's polyurethane (PU) footwear business in Vietnam. The role implements the Value Chain hunting strategy, works closely with the Vietnam team to identify new PU projects, secure approvals and expand relationships with major shoe manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Vietnam team to scout and develop new PU footwear projects, especially with Taiwanese, Korean and Chinese transplants.
• Monitor market trends and customers' sustainability objectives, promoting sustainable PU and recycled PU solutions.
• Develop and execute account engagement plans to achieve assigned PU business KPIs and sales targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with key footwear factories, driving business growth alongside global and regional PU key‑account teams.
• Partner with the Asia key‑account core team to align initiatives and share best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or key‑account management within the chemical, materials or footwear sector.
• Strong knowledge of polyurethane applications in footwear and awareness of sustainability trends.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with global and regional teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to travel within Vietnam as needed.

Required skills

• Understanding of footwear manufacturing processes.
• Ability to analyse market trends and prepare business proposals.
• Proficiency in KPI tracking and sales reporting.
