Embedded Hardware Software Specialist (HSW)

About the role

The Embedded Hardware Software Specialist (HSW) will act as a technical expert for the design, development, integration and optimisation of hardware‑software components in safety‑critical automotive ECUs such as brake and steering systems. The role combines deep hardware knowledge with software engineering to deliver robust, compliant solutions for global projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse system and software requirements and define HSW solutions for complex automotive embedded systems.
• Lead design, development, integration and optimisation of HSW components for brake, steering and other safety‑critical ECU platforms.
• Own hardware configuration strategy, software adaptation and variant management across multiple projects.
• Perform datasheet analysis and schematic review to understand hardware behaviour and define software configurations.
• Conduct hardware‑software debugging, root‑cause analysis and resolution of critical issues, guiding engineering teams.
• Review software design, implementation and verification activities to ensure compliance with automotive standards and ASPICE processes.

Required profile

• Technical mentor with strong experience in automotive safety‑critical development.
• Proven ability to work with global cross‑functional teams.
• Familiarity with automotive standards and ASPICE process compliance.

Required skills

• Datasheet analysis and schematic review.
• Hardware‑software debugging and root‑cause analysis.
