Embedded Software Developer - Basic Software (BSW)

About the role

As an Embedded Software Developer focusing on Basic Software (BSW) for automotive systems, you will contribute to the development of safety‑critical functions such as ABS, ESP, and iBooster. You will work within Bosch Global Software Technologies, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality embedded code for microcontroller platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify and analyse functional and technical requirements.
• Design low‑level and high‑level software architecture for BSW modules.
• Implement, integrate and unit‑test C/C++ code on target microcontrollers.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with automotive standards.
• Document design decisions, test results and report issues to project leads.
• Debug and troubleshoot software on hardware prototypes.
• Support integration activities with other software layers and hardware teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Minimum 0.5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation.
• Understanding of microcontroller architectures and peripheral interfaces.
• Familiarity with embedded development tools and debugging techniques.
