Legal Manager

About the role

The Legal Manager will lead the legal function for Manulife Vietnam, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting business operations through expert legal guidance. This senior position reports to senior management and works closely with insurance product teams, compliance, and external counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer complaints that involve legal issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Manage and oversee litigation matters, coordinating with external law firms as needed.
• Provide legal advice and practical solutions to internal business units.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
• Develop and review policy wording for insurance products to ensure alignment with current legislation.
• Conduct training sessions on legal topics for staff across the organization.
• Monitor legislative developments and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Law; a lawyer practice certificate is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in life insurance and litigation.
• Professional qualifications in insurance or finance.
• Strong analytical ability, resourcefulness, and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent research, communication, drafting, and problem‑solving skills.
