About the role
The Library Assistant will support the school library’s daily operations, helping to create a welcoming environment for students and staff. Working under the Assistant Teacher Librarian, the role focuses on managing collections, assisting patrons, and supporting academic activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the overall management of the library, including organizing resources and maintaining the catalogue.
- Support students and teachers in locating and using library materials.
- Help establish library goals and expectations in collaboration with staff.
- Participate in the planning and execution of library programs and events.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly library environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in education, English linguistics/literature, library and information science, or a related field.
- Strong commitment to student welfare and well‑being.
- Familiarity with current educational practices, assessment methods, and technology integration.
- Awareness of publishing trends and school library developments.
