Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Seaonics

About the role

VARD, a global leader in specialised vessel design and construction, is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join its Seaonics team in Ho Chi Minh City. The role focuses on the technical supervision and commissioning of marine lifting and handling equipment, ensuring that all systems meet VARD’s high standards of safety and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical supervision and commissioning activities for Seaonics equipment on board vessels.
• Coordinate equipment production follow‑up and verify compliance with design specifications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
• Document commissioning procedures, test results and hand‑over reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for marine lifting and handling systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of three years’ experience with marine lifting and handling equipment or related operational fields.
• Successful completion of Seaonics internal training and approval process for ECMC equipment, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary shipbuilding environment.
