Medical Advisor / Senior Medical Science Liaison

About the role

AstraZeneca Vietnam is looking for a Medical Advisor (MA) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Senior MSL). This is an external and internal-facing role that provides medical and clinical expertise in priority therapeutic areas and builds AstraZeneca's scientific leadership. It focuses on building professional relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) through ESRs, scientific exchange meetings and advisory board meetings, and takes the lead on designing and running medical activities aligned with brand strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with scientific leaders (about 50% of time in the field): build and maintain relationships, develop a KOL engagement plan, maintain a KOL database and recommend advisory board participation and speakers.
• Share emerging data with HCPs in an objective, balanced way, and respond to unsolicited requests about unapproved products or uses.
• Develop or initiate scientific programs exploring unmet medical needs, discuss ESR and RWE opportunities, and interact with KOLs on clinical trials.
• Provide medical input to brand plans, pre-launch medical plans for new products, faculty and content for congresses, advisory boards, CMEs and publications, and to life cycle management of priority brands.
• Help develop NIS or registry studies and propose ESRs, and publish completed studies.
• Review promotional materials against internal SOPs and the IFPMA code, support the clinical team in selecting investigators and sites, and ensure compliance with AZ's code of conduct, corporate governance and audit requirements.
• Deliver medical education and clinical support to medical professionals and train sales teams.
