Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer

About the role

The Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) activity in Vietnam is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer. You will support the implementation of STRIDES indicators, manage data collection, and help translate findings into actionable learning for the program.

Key responsibilities

• Support country‑level tracking of STRIDES indicators and prepare regular reports for leadership.
• Provide technical assistance and quality assurance for data collection, reporting tools, and monitoring systems.
• Design and deliver training sessions for program staff on performance indicators, data management, and MEL processes.
• Draft technical sections of proposals, project designs, and scientific or technical materials as directed by technical leadership.
• Conduct literature and online searches to inform MEL activities and contribute to knowledge‑sharing products.
• Maintain MEL documentation, including protocols, manuals, data sets, and training materials.
• Offer administrative and logistical support for meetings, trainings, and events, and assist with budget and activity tracking.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning within health or public‑health programmes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, data‑driven reports.
• Excellent communication skills for training staff and collaborating with partners.
• Ability to work independently and follow standard operating procedures.
