Packaging Design and Optimization Engineer (Chinese Speaking)

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited (BGSV), a 100% owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH and the first Bosch software development centre in Southeast Asia, is hiring a Packaging Design and Optimization Engineer in Ho Chi Minh City. The role covers packaging materials and solutions for raw materials, components and finished products, with a requirement to speak Chinese.

Key responsibilities

• Develop packaging materials and solutions for raw materials, components and finished products used in the supply chain.
• Design returnable and one-way packaging for transportation, storage and material handling.
• Create and improve packaging designs to reduce costs, improve ergonomics and maximize product loading efficiency.
• Work with Bosch plants and external suppliers to implement new packaging concepts and support new project launches.
• Collaborate with logistics, manufacturing, quality and other departments so packaging meets technical, operational and logistics requirements.
• Support supplier selection and sourcing of packaging materials and products, and the purchasing of tools and equipment for packaging production.
• Review and improve existing packaging designs and processes to increase standardization and reduce the number of packaging types.
• Take part in continuous improvement projects on packaging, logistics and supply chain efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Automotive Engineering, Design, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Familiarity with different types of packaging materials.
• Communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams; reliable and structured.
• Experience with MS Office tools, IT tools and web-based portals.
• Knowledge of automotive industry regulations and compliance requirements is an advantage.
• English at C1 level and proficiency in Chinese.

Required skills

• Design software is mandatory: Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar.
• SAP knowledge is helpful.
