Medical Affairs Lead - Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism

About the role

AstraZeneca Vietnam is looking for a Medical Affairs Lead for its Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM) therapy area. This is an office-based medical leader who can act as a single contributor or lead a team within a therapy area or a significant product, ensuring business unit goals are met. The role sets the strategic direction of the therapy area, establishes medical standards, and embeds an understanding of local healthcare system practices and gaps into actionable medical plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the therapy area/product medical affairs plans, including evidence generation and sustainable clinical practice transformation
• Lead medical strategy and clinical input, including designing, implementing and overseeing real-world evidence (RWE) projects and interpreting their findings
• Lead educational initiatives, develop clinical support tools and provide scientific expertise to integrate new medical advancements into clinical practice
• Build a performance-driven team, set clear expectations and goals, and mentor junior colleagues
• Ensure product materials are accurate and up to date, approve complex materials and sign off outgoing therapy area materials
• Advise the marketing team on the medical accuracy of materials and ensure branding complies with AstraZeneca standards and regulations
• Ensure adherence to processes and regulations such as clinical trials, promotional activity (Local country Code of Ethics), patient safety and pharmacovigilance (RMPs, PI updates)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and compliance on projects such as RWE, pre- and post-launch clinical trials and market access

Required profile

• Science degree or master's degree in a scientific discipline
• Extensive experience in the Medical Affairs function within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong understanding of medical, clinical development and regulatory requirements
• Extensive experience in stakeholder management
