Packaging Design and Optimization Engineer – East Asia

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies Company Limited (BGSV), Bosch's first software development centre in Southeast Asia, is hiring a Packaging Design and Optimization Engineer for the East Asia region. The role sits within the physical logistics department and covers packaging concepts for raw materials and finished goods, with a focus on cost savings through better ergonomics and product density.

Key responsibilities

• Develop packaging concepts for raw materials and finished goods in the supply chain, including returnable and one-way packaging for transport and handling.
• Coordinate and run optimization projects to save costs, for example by improving ergonomics and product density.
• Work with internal and external suppliers (automotive suppliers and Bosch plants) to ensure a smooth ramp-up of new projects.
• Align new packaging with the needs of the related AM plants and support competitive sourcing of packaging suppliers.
• Release purchase orders for packaging production tools and optimize internal processes to reduce the number of packaging types.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Design, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Familiarity with packaging materials and experience with MS Office, IT tools and web portals.
• Communication skills, reliability, structured approach, creativity and attention to detail.
• English at C1 level; Chinese is a plus.

Required skills

• Mandatory design software: Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar.
• SAP knowledge is helpful; knowledge of automotive industry regulations is an advantage.
