Power BI Specialist – BI Governance & Architecture

About the role

Damen Song Cam Shipyard is seeking an experienced Power BI professional to act as the organization’s subject‑matter expert. You will shape Business Intelligence implementation, governance, and adoption across the company while delivering high‑quality, scalable reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the trusted Power BI expert, advising product owners, BI managers, developers, and analysts on best practices.
• Assess and improve enterprise BI architecture, governance, security, and deployment processes.
• Define and maintain development standards, reusable templates, visualization principles, and governance frameworks.
• Lead technical design reviews covering Power BI architecture, DAX, Power Query, SQL, semantic modeling, security, and performance optimization.
• Translate complex business questions into scalable reporting strategies and validate usability, accuracy, and security before deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or related field.
• Extensive experience in BI development, analytics, database design, and data modeling.
• Proven ability to coach developers, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Microsoft Power BI (including DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, report design, performance optimization, deployment & governance)
• Strong SQL and relational database expertise
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, APIs
• Familiarity with Agile development frameworks
