Mechanical Design Engineer – Project Engineering

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will develop mechanical engineering deliverables for projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, company standards, schedule and quality objectives. The role involves performing calculations, selecting equipment, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. Depending on project size and complexity, the engineer may also lead a small engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare concept, basic and detailed design drawings in accordance with local codes and international standards.
• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and create schematic diagrams to select appropriate equipment sizes.
• Liaise with other engineering disciplines to integrate designs.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on drawings and calculations, ensuring all documents are reviewed before submission.
• Assist the team leader in producing design specifications, reports, and finalizing calculations.
• Follow company design procedures and professional standards.
• Propose technical innovations to improve designs.
• Support equipment and material quantity take‑off and cost estimating activities.
• Coordinate engineering team tasks, track progress, and maintain motivation.
• Ensure highest safety standards and minimize environmental impact through design reviews.
