Project Controller DS&C – Vietnam

About the role

The Project Controller DS&C will be responsible for financial control of a portfolio of shipbuilding projects executed in Vietnam for Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels. Based at Song Cam Shipyard, the role involves frequent travel to other shipyards and close collaboration with project managers, site teams and the OSV Finance organisation in the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence at shipyards, acting as the financial counterpart to local project managers and yard management.
• Monitor physical progress, milestones, procurement status and translate these developments into financial impact.
• Identify emerging cost overruns, delays, scope changes and cash‑flow risks early and challenge project forecasts.
• Prepare periodic project reports, variance analyses and forecast updates for the OSV Finance team.
• Support project managers with scenario analyses, decision support and practical financial insight.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of project costs, commitments, accruals and progress.

Required profile

• Native Vietnamese speaker with excellent written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in project controlling, finance, audit, consultancy or financial analysis.
• Experience in a project‑driven environment; shipbuilding or engineering background is a plus.
• Proactive, accurate, able to work independently across multiple locations and travel frequently within Vietnam.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
