Project Controller – Shipbuilding Projects (Vietnam)

About the role

As a Project Controller you will be responsible for the financial control of a portfolio of shipbuilding projects executed in Vietnam for Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels. The position is based at Song Cam Shipyard but requires frequent travel to other shipyards across Vietnam.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence at shipyards, acting as the financial counterpart to local Project Managers and yard management.
• Monitor physical progress, milestones, procurement status and translate these into financial impact.
• Identify emerging cost overruns, delays, scope changes and cash‑flow risks early.
• Challenge project forecasts and assumptions based on on‑site observations and documentation.
• Prepare periodic project reports, variance analyses and forecast updates for the OSV Finance organisation in the Netherlands.
• Support Project Managers with scenario analyses, decision support and accurate recording of costs, commitments and accruals.

Required profile

• Native Vietnamese speaker with excellent written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in project controlling, finance, audit or financial analysis.
• Experience in a project‑driven environment; shipbuilding or engineering background is a plus.
• Proactive, accurate and able to work independently across multiple locations.
