Senior Mobile iOS Engineer

About the role

Axon is looking for a Senior Mobile iOS Engineer to join its Ho Chi Minh City office. The role reports to the Engineering Manager, Mobile Development and sits within a team building the next generation of mobile applications used by law enforcement officers. It is a hybrid position: onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with remote work on Mondays unless an approved accommodation exists.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the codebase interacts correctly with platform SDKs for photos, videos, audio, file management, networking, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and with custom devices such as body-worn cameras.
• Lead engineering architecture and design reviews and set a high technical standard through code and design reviews.
• Collaborate with the product design team to turn mobile UI designs into functional, engaging solutions.
• Drive the mobile software lifecycle, from prototyping to commercialization and post-launch support.
• Interface with cloud services for seamless integration with supported workflows.
• Mentor engineers and enhance engineering processes such as sprint planning, stand-ups and long-term planning.
• Build robust, mission-critical software that meets high standards of stability and data privacy.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional experience delivering high-quality iOS applications to the Apple App Store.
• Proven ability to lead mobile architecture discussions, design reviews, implementation and post-release monitoring.
• Experience consuming remote data via RESTful APIs and JSON.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Swift, with working knowledge of Objective-C.
• Modern iOS technologies such as SwiftUI and Swift Package Manager.
• Mobile architecture patterns (e.g. MVVM, MVI) and automated testing.
• Understanding of low-level networking protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, WebSockets); Wireshark or Charles Proxy is a plus.
• Nice to have: experience with SDKs for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, camera APIs and third-party hardware, and familiarity with video streaming and IoT connectivity (BLE and Wi-Fi).
