Translation & Requirement Management Support Associate (Japanese/English)

About the role

We are looking for a bilingual professional to support translation and requirement management activities for our technical projects. The role involves converting Japanese technical documentation into English (and vice‑versa) while ensuring high linguistic quality and technical accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Translate technical specifications, user manuals, software documentation and other project‑related materials between Japanese and English.
• Maintain consistency using glossaries, style guides and translation‑memory tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and technical writers to clarify terminology.
• Perform quality‑assurance reviews and proofreading of translated content.
• Provide real‑time interpretation when required.
• Import specification content (Word, Excel, PDF, matrix) into IBM Rational DOORS, manage versions, set attributes and layout per customer requirements.
• Handle system configuration management, baseline copies and tracking reports.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken and written Japanese and English (JLPT N2 or higher, IELTS/TOEIC high‑advanced score).
• Minimum 3 years of professional translation experience in a technical environment such as software development, IT or engineering.

Required skills

• Translation Memory tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Memsource).
• Terminology management systems.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• IBM Rational DOORS (or similar requirements management tools).
