Automotive Diagnostic Software Engineer (1-year contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Automotive Diagnostic Software Engineer to join Bosch Global Software Technologies in Ho Chi Minh City on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will work within the automotive engineering team to develop and validate diagnostic software for modern vehicles, using standard automotive protocols and performing hands‑on testing on test vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Map ESI standard texts to OEM-specific texts for aftersales and aftermarket diagnostic tester software.
• Write requirement specifications for diagnostic tester solutions.
• Create end‑to‑end diagnostic content for systems such as engine management, electric/hybrid powertrains, brake control, infotainment, ADAS, transmission, HVAC, airbags, etc.
• Analyse vehicle communication bus logs with various diagnostic analyzers.
• Simulate automotive systems using dedicated simulator tools and validate software behavior.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in automotive engineering or diagnostic software development.
• Hands‑on testing experience on real vehicles.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for validation activities.
• Strong foundation in automotive diagnostic protocols and aftersales processes.

Required skills

• Automotive diagnostic protocols (e.g., OBD, UDS, KWP).
• Diagnostic software development and validation.
• Vehicle communication bus analysis (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
• Use of simulation tools for automotive system modeling.
