About the role
The Emergency Preparedness and Coordination Associate will support UNICEF Vietnam’s climate‑change and disaster‑risk programmes. Working on the UN premises in Hanoi, the associate will assist the Programme Specialist for Climate Change and Disaster in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and updating emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Coordinate with UN agencies, government bodies and NGOs to ensure alignment of disaster‑risk activities.
- Collect, analyse and report data related to climate‑change impacts and disaster risks.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning processes for emergency programmes.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefing notes, policy briefs and communication materials.
Required profile
- Minimum of 1 year of professional, volunteer, internship or project experience in emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction, climate change, public policy or related fields.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work on‑site in Hanoi and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams.
