Junior Engineering Developer

About the role

Akselos, a digital technology company delivering Structural Performance Management to energy and industrial assets, is hiring a Junior Engineering Developer in Ho Chi Minh City. You will build and maintain software tools, functionalities and automation scripts that streamline the engineering workflow and follow industrial standards for structural assessment, focusing on the pre-processing and post-processing steps of a structural simulation. The role bridges traditional engineering disciplines and software development.

Key responsibilities

• Read and apply industrial standard guidelines such as API 579 and ASME to structural simulation processes using the Finite Element (FE) method.
• Configure and run structural simulations with the FE method, analysing displacement and stress results to support software feature development.
• Contribute to computational software features and write tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure quality.
• Write documentation for Python code, simulation processes and feature functionalities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering or a related field.
• Effective communication in English.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving, quick learning, and teamwork across continents and time zones.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the Finite Element (FE) method and hands-on experience with industrial FEA software or specialised FEA tools.
• Ability to use Python to automate engineering workflows.
• Nice to have: a foundation in mathematics (linear algebra, matrix computations, spatial geometry), knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub, and the ability to read and apply industrial standards.
