Senior Data Engineer / AI Engineer – Supply Chain (Databricks focus)

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer / AI Engineer you will lead the design, implementation, and operation of an AI‑enabled data platform on Databricks for Bosch's supply chain business. You will work closely with AI engineers, analysts, and enterprise system owners to deliver production‑ready, low‑latency LLM applications that interact with enterprise data.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture and DevOps of the AI platform on Databricks, including Delta Lake, workflows, governance, and environments.
• Design AI‑ready data architectures optimized for large language model (LLM) and agent use cases.
• Lead the implementation and scaling of Databricks Genie (or similar) for natural‑language‑to‑data interaction.
• Build and deploy LLM‑powered applications, agents, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Integrate enterprise systems such as SAP, internal databases, and APIs via connectors and tool‑calling interfaces.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, and observability standards for data and AI workloads.
• Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of Databricks workloads.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI engineering, data platform engineering, or backend systems.
• Deep expertise with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, job orchestration, governance).
• Strong background in platform engineering/DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Hands‑on experience with LLMs and AI systems (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open‑source models).
