Senior Mobile Android Engineer I

About the role

Axon is looking for a Senior Mobile Android Engineer to join its Ho Chi Minh City office. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and works on Axon's mobile applications (Axon App, View and Capture) used by law enforcement officers to acquire and manage digital evidence. It is a hybrid position: onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with remote work on Mondays unless an approved accommodation exists.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain features in the apps and related shared libraries.
• Make sure the code interacts correctly with platform SDKs for photos, videos, audio, file management, networking, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and with custom devices such as body-worn cameras.
• Ensure the codebase meets the highest data privacy standards.
• Work with Mobile Scrum teams to hit sprint goals and with other groups to deliver the right product.
• Raise the technical bar through code and design reviews and investigate optimal solutions to challenging problems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years shipping world-class Android applications.
• Strong track record of delivering high-quality code on schedule.
• Experience applying the latest native Android technologies presented at Google I/O (Jetpack Compose, Room, CameraX, ExoPlayer, Android 15).
• Experience with modern architecture (MVVM, MVI, etc.) and unit, integration and E2E testing.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong Kotlin and Java.
• Android SDKs: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, networking, camera, audio, file management and third-party hardware.
• CI/CD automation and integration.
