Senior Telematics Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Telematics Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver connected‑vehicle software across commercial/off‑highway and passenger‑car domains. The role owns features end‑to‑end on the Telematics Control Unit, from vehicle‑network data acquisition through edge processing to cloud connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain embedded telematics software on TCU platforms (Embedded Linux / RTOS) for both commercial/off‑highway and passenger‑car programs.
• Develop vehicle‑network interfaces such as CAN, CAN‑FD, J1939, ISOBUS, UDS, DoIP and integrate OEM‑specific signal matrices.
• Integrate 4G/5G modems, GNSS, and build MQTT/HTTPS telemetry pipelines with AWS IoT or Azure IoT.
• Build and maintain OTA (FOTA/SOTA) update mechanisms, remote diagnostics and fleet‑management data services.
• Implement regulatory and safety features like eCall, tachograph interfaces and emissions monitoring.
• Apply automotive cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156) and support functional safety activities (ISO 26262).
• Own feature lifecycle from requirements through validation and field issue resolution.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce code quality via reviews, CI/CD and static analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of embedded software development in automotive, telematics or IoT.
• Strong experience with C/C++ (C++14+), Python for tooling and test automation.
• Proficiency with automotive tooling such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, bus analyzers, JTAG/Lauterbach debuggers, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot) and/or RTOS on ARM platforms.
• Experience with cellular connectivity, GNSS, MQTT, TLS/HTTPS and cloud integration.
