Technical Manager Swine - Asia Pacific

About the role

Phileo, a business unit of Lesaffre, is looking for a Technical Manager Swine for the Asia Pacific region, based in Ho Chi Minh City. The role aims to develop Phileo product sales across all swine segments, support local sales and technical teams and distributors through technical training, run conviction trials and take part in new applications and product projects. It involves international travel of at least 50% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Support commercial teams by organizing technical trainings for staff, distributors and customers, and assisting them in winning and retaining business through physical and online client meetings.
• Manage selected key accounts, orchestrate field evaluations of products and projects, and propose and follow conviction trials.
• Provide technical support to distributors, customers and other technical representatives, correct application problems and keep customers satisfied.
• Contribute to product portfolio management, innovation programs and R&D trial follow-up, and coordinate projects generating new swine data in the region.
• Build a network of key opinion leaders and follow market trends, competitor positioning and customer segmentation.
• Help organize regional swine events such as symposiums and seminars, and contribute to articles, newsletters and technical documents.
• Comply with local HSE regulations, take part in safety activities and report accidents and near misses.

Required profile

• Agricultural engineer, veterinarian specialized or PhD in the swine domain with a nutrition background.
• At least 10 years of practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of swine nutrition, production systems and/or disease issues, with excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to influence through indirect leadership, strong and diplomatic communication, adaptability and creativity.
• Commercial and marketing mindset; English is essential, other languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally at least 50% of the time, including weekend and early/late hours.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of probability and statistics; use of statistical programs is a plus.
• Knowledge of livestock feed and production processes and ingredients.
