Health Governance Specialist

About the role

The Health Governance Specialist will support the joint UNDP‑WHO programme in Vietnam, providing strategic and technical leadership to improve access to quality medical products, strengthen regulatory systems and promote digital health transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead WHO‑Vietnam efforts on regulatory reform, vaccine and medicines institutional development plans, and the drafting of the Medical Devices Law and National Medicines Policy.
• Provide strategic advisory for UNDP’s Health Governance Portfolio, defining priorities, designing programmes, and overseeing results‑based management.
• Manage UNDP staff working on health governance and coordinate technical oversight with WHO, ensuring alignment with national priorities.
• Engage partners, donors and the private sector to mobilise resources and sustain technical support for health system improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health systems strengthening, regulatory affairs or governance in low‑ and middle‑income contexts.
• Ability to provide high‑level strategic advice to senior government and UN officials and to lead multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
